Señor de Huanca Sanctuary as a new Cultural Heritage in Sacred Valley - Cusco

The Ministry of Culture declared as Cultural Heritage of the Nation the festivity of Señor de Huanca, which is developed in the district of San Salvador (Calca province), some points that were considered for election was the cultural and religious manifestations that it practice in this event.

 

The designation was establish through the resolution Nro. 126-2014 of  the Vice Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

 

The pilgrimage takes place every year on September 13, most people leave from the district of San Jerónimo to be in place the next day (14 September), the day when all activities are performed in commemoration of the Day Lord of Huanca.

This new proclamation was thanks to a multidisciplinary team from the Ministry of Cusco, which performed throughout the document to achieve the declaration of Cultural Heritage of the Nation "The feast of the Lord of Huanca
