The tourist circuit of the Inca Trail Network of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu was reopened for the 2014 season, after maintenance works were carried out, according to the National Service of Natural Protected Areas Sernanp.
The qualification process of tour operators for Inca Trail has allowed authorize 190 1,532 travel agencies and tour guides, which in turn will have the logistical support of 6,276 cooks and porters.
The opening of the 2014 season has sued various joint actions, among which highlights the training of staff of the Directorate of Culture Cusco Decentralized-National Archaeological Park of Machu Picchu and the Head of Machu Picchu-SERNANP on managing software for recording, monitoring and care that must be provided to the visitor.
Capacity building has been extended to tourism operators and guides staff and support staff, with whom they have developed issues related to the importance of the preservation of cultural and natural heritage, the application of rules in protected natural areas and solid waste management.
