New Inca aqueduct in Sacsayhuaman

In the field of Huaca Calispuquio within the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, an aqueduct was found which is mentioned in the chronicles of Juan Polo Ondegardo and Zárate, published in 1571.

 

The channel or aqueduct was found by the crew of the Regional Directorate of Culture Cusco. Oscar Montufar, director of the archaeological complex, said the finding is 200 meters from the Esplanade, has an area of 15 meters and 1.50 meters wide, based clay and covered with carved stones and gravel.
