International Committee comprised of delegates and equipment Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru decided unanimously that Cusco was the first seat of the Secretariat pro tempore of the International Committee of the Qhapaq Ñan - Andean Highway System.
The appointment is for a term of two years and then the seat will rotate among the six countries in alphabetical order
Deputy Minister of Culture, Luis Jaime Castillo said: "The Qhapaq Ñan has its point of departure and arrival in Cusco, from here the great Inca civilization was built and therefore the designation is fair"
Ricardo Ruiz Caro, director of Culture of Cusco, considered that this "is an important achievement for the Cusco and Peru," he also said: "the enormous responsibility of coordinating and managing all processes for appropriate protection and management of this network road built by the ancient Peruvians.
