Peru’s Inca Trail
The Inca Trail is often cited as a top adventure holiday hotspot, but it’s also a wonderful place for sun seekers to discover. As you’ll be camping for the duration of the walking tour to Machu Picchu, you’ll be spending plenty of time out and about. Although the main attraction of this trek is obviously your final destination, that’s not to say there isn’t plenty to see along the way.
The trail itself is fascinating, having been created by the Incas centuries ago, and along the path are several smaller ruins that you can explore - like the towns of Winay Wayna and Sayacmarca. Machu Picchu is undoubtedly the highlight though, with this incredible city spreading out in front of you as you approach it from the mountain pass. Exploring the ruins is an amazing experience and certainly not one you should rush.
