Spectacular, distant, lonely and forgotten, Choquequirao (3.085 f) operates on top of almost impregnated at mountain of La Convención, province in Cusco. This place was the last bastion of the resistance during 40 years where the sons of these people, were hosted into these walls. After the defeat of Manco Inca, the last rebels built this place to reborn the Inca culture and using it as vivarium with rooms, temples, two-tier fountain systems, canals, aqueducts and its lovely terraces "upholstered" with profuse vegetation. That is the reason why you need to visit Choquequirao, a place that is worth the effort.

Choquequirao is located to the northeast of Cusco among the Apurimac and Urubamba rivers, also into this route you can see the majestic Salkantay into the range mountain of Vilcabamba offering you a unique experience and opportunity to reunite with the nature among green mountains, bears, condors, tarantulas, etc.

This region of cloud forest  served as a refuge and natural fortress for the Inca resistance  in XVI century, who tried to regain control of Tahuantinsuyo of the Spanish invaders. The customs and typical clothing of the local people reflect a mixture of cultures. Their language and decoration textile Pre-Inca and Inca, give clear evidence of the influence of Runasimi (Quechua). Vilcabamba is also a region where there are concentrations of Pre-Columbian archaeological treasures, including Choquequirao and the famous citadel Machu Picchu. Also are functioning network of Inca roads connecting the plains of Vitcos, Rosaspata and Espiritu Pampa.
